📰 The Latest on TTK
Last night, it came to light that some players discovered a loophole or glitch that allowed them to claim additional resources. The glitch allowed players to claim 2-3 times the intended amount by repeatedly clicking the claim button. In full transparency, I tested it myself and confirmed that it worked. However, as of around 9:30 pm ET, CaptainKBD made a post announcing that the glitch had reportedly been fixed.
Many in the community are frustrated, as this glitch only became publicly known recently, meaning some players likely exploited it over the past week to expedite their progress and prestige. Thankfully, the glitch has now been resolved, allowing us to continue competing with each other on a fair playing field.
Food for Thought
In comparing notes with a fellow TTK guild leader, Dip Collector, I’ve noticed he’s doing an impressive job of prestiging almost daily. He does have 50% more prysms deployed than I do and consistently beats me to prestige by a few hours. I think there are a few factors at play here.
Admittedly, Dip plays quite a bit at night, claiming resources and starting buildings with minimal time commitment. While it may disrupt his sleep, it’s not a huge sacrifice and will likely give him a strong economic payoff in the long run. I did this last night, and claimed resources 3 times. This drastically sped things up but not something I can do on repeat.
For those who prefer to sleep through the night, here are some points to consider:
First, I suspect my strategy might have backfired when I deployed too many military prysms. Military prysms offer a unique, though modest, bonus—such as a 9% boost—that applies across all industries. However, deploying an industry-specific prysm provides a full bonus to that specific industry. While military prysms help with overall balance, I now realize that focusing too heavily on them may have been less efficient for my goals. Unfortunately, since I’ve already committed to this path, there’s not much I can do to adjust.
Additionally, I took a balanced approach by deploying 88 prysms to each industry across 23 surrealscapes. I overlooked the importance of matching prysms to specific prefixes and suffixes, something Dip factored into his strategy. Although I can’t prove it definitively, I believe this consideration has played a role in his greater success.
