Getting Started - The Third Kingdom has Arrived!
TTK has been live, but currently under maintenance due to bugs which are typical for live launches. Stay tuned to the FV discord for updates rated to game issues and support news.
Here's everything you need to know to get off to a fast start!
Utilize the official start-up guide 👇
For Selecting your Origin Island - This will be your land biome for the duration of at least episode 1 of TTK and serves as the starting point. Your selection is expected to only affect the visual appearance of the island and not gameplay mechanics.
Players can plant up to 12 Prysms and build 12 extractors on this piece of land, allowing them to begin resource production and energy generation.
What we’ve learned so far!
The ultimate goal is to Prestige! Each level of the lighthouse has specific requirements for the amount and type of resources needed to level up.
As you progress to higher Prestige levels, it seems reasonable to assume that the difficulty will increase, requiring different and larger quantities of resources, which will also mean it takes more time to level up.
There’s a great mechanic in place to ensure that relative progress for all users remains similar, regardless of wallet size. The more SS or Prysms you have deployed, the higher the cost in mined materials to Prestige. This keeps the progression rate feeling similar for everyone.
The benefit of having more assets deployed, however, is that the energy earned from Prestiging is higher, which will be essential for harvesting mycelium in Season 2.
Stacking your SS allows you to deploy more Prysms and boosts your production energy, helping you progress faster overall.
Kingdom Coin will serve as an excellent sink for ROOT, as expected. It can be used for nearly all gameplay actions, from speeding up processes to increasing capacity.
The production bonus for each Prysm does take into account its prefix, even though this is not visibly displayed. This explains the varying production bonuses across different Prysms. The re-roll option for production bonuses may have a ceiling based on this mechanic.
It also seems that the military industry may boost all production, which could explain the generally lower bonuses overall. The role of industry is becoming increasingly important as you advance.
Early thoughts on Kingdom Coin:
Kingdom Coins in The Third Kingdom (TTK) vs. Gems in Clash of Clans (CoC)
In Clash of Clans, a well-known resource-management game, gems serve as a premium currency, allowing players to accelerate building times, upgrade processes, acquire resources, or unlock exclusive items. Likewise, in The Third Kingdom, Kingdom Coins play a similar role, offering strategic advantages when used wisely.
Below is a speculative comparison and strategy guide, highlighting how both titles implement premium currencies and how players can optimize their spending for maximum impact in The Third Kingdom. Comments related to attacking and troops are even more specualtive as we do know how mechanisms will work in later episodes regarding troops, raids, etc. and whether that is even planned.
1. Prioritize Time-Saving Benefits
In Clash of Clans, gems are often used to reduce waiting times for building, troop upgrades, or research. Players who use gems strategically save time and accelerate their progress in the game. Similarly, Kingdom Coins in TTK should be used to reduce time-sensitive constraints, such as:
Building and Upgrades: Players should use Kingdom Coins to speed up crucial building upgrades. For example, upgrading key structures that provide stronger defenses or faster resource production.
Resource Generation: If a player's kingdom faces resource shortages, they can use Kingdom Coins to speed up production or gather extra resources from in-game chests or bonuses.
Special Units or Boosts: Unlocking limited-time special characters or army boosts can turn the tide in battles, so spending Kingdom Coins on these during important events or missions could be highly effective.
2. Resource Shortage Solutions
In both games, managing resources (gold, elixir in CoC, and resources like food, timber, and iron in TTK) is critical. Players often use gems in CoC to buy resources when they are short, especially during upgrades or troop training.
In TTK, players should:
Invest Kingdom Coins in Essential Resources: When key upgrades are needed, Kingdom Coins can be used to bridge resource gaps, ensuring upgrades or defenses aren’t delayed. However, it's important to limit this strategy to critical moments when those resources directly affect a player's advancement in the game.
Special Events: If they are offered in the future, you should participate in resource-boosting events that may offer resource multipliers, and use Kingdom Coins for extra spins, entries, or upgrades tied to these events.
3. Avoid Wasting Coins on Small Transactions
One mistake Clash of Clans players often make is wasting gems on trivial speed-ups or unnecessary cosmetic items. Similarly, in TTK, using Kingdom Coins for small or non-essential purchases can drain valuable resources. Players should avoid:
Spending Kingdom Coins on low-priority speed-ups.
Using coins for vanity items that don’t improve gameplay.
Long-Term Tip: Players should consider using Kingdom Coins for major in-game events, limited-time offers, or rare unit/gear unlocks, which can provide lasting benefits rather than short-term conveniences.
